CAR AIR CONDITIONING SERVICE & REPAIR

Car air conditioning servicing, diagnostics, and repairs to restore reliable cooling and system performance.

At Barr Automotive, we carry out ARCtick-licensed air conditioning servicing, including leak testing, system diagnostics, and refrigerant handling. Servicing Hornsby, Waitara, Asquith, and Thornleigh.

AIR CONDITIONING SERVICING

Air conditioning servicing and system testing to maintain cooling performance and prevent failures.

We carry out full AC system inspections including pressure testing, leak detection, and performance checks. Servicing is completed using approved equipment and manufacturer specifications to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation.

AIR CONDITIONING
REFRIGERANTS

Licensed refrigerant handling and system servicing for safe and compliant operation.

As an ARCtick-licensed workshop, we service R134a, R1234yf, and CO₂ (R744) systems using approved equipment and procedures. All refrigerant handling, recovery, and recharging is carried out in accordance with Australian regulations.

AIR CONDITIONING COMPONENTS

Inspection of air conditioning components to identify faults and maintain system performance.

Your AC system relies on components such as the compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, and cabin filter. We inspect all components during servicing to diagnose faults early and prevent further damage.

R134a refrigerant has a significantly higher environmental impact than CO₂.

When released, R134a has a global warming potential over 1,400 times greater than carbon dioxide. Even small leaks can have a measurable impact, with the release of approximately 500g equivalent to the emissions produced by driving a fuel-efficient hybrid vehicle for over 7,700 kilometres. Correct recovery, leak testing, and ARCtick-compliant handling are essential to minimise environmental harm.

AIR CONDITIONING SERVICING, NO GUESSWORK

Clear diagnosis and correct repairs ensure long-term system performance.

We assess the full AC system before carrying out any work, explaining what is required and why. This ensures faults are resolved properly rather than temporarily masked.

CAR AIR CONDITIONING REGAS & LEAK DIAGNOSIS

Regassing restores refrigerant levels, but low gas usually indicates an underlying issue.

While many vehicles require regassing over time, loss of refrigerant is often caused by leaks or component wear. We diagnose the system before regassing to ensure the issue is properly resolved, rather than simply refilling the system.

SIGNS YOUR AIR CONDITIONING NEEDS REPAIR

Air conditioning issues often develop gradually and should be addressed early.

Common signs include weak airflow, warm air, unusual smells, noisy operation, or inconsistent cooling. We diagnose AC systems to identify faults and restore proper performance before further damage occurs.
